Virtually everyone I know has a digital camera these days but most of them have no idea how they can use their cameras to create extra cash. But just before you attempt to earn some extra money with your brand new Canon or Nikon you must realize that your digital camera is only a tool. You can purchase a top of the range Digital SLR in your local store and still not make a cent in this field of Stock photography. Alternatively, you could get the cheapest point-and-shoot that the store has to offer and make a ton of money with it if you recognize what you’re undertaking.

One of the most important keys to turning your images into a profitable business would be to discover everything you possibly can about producing quality images. Read books and articles and study each and every image you come across. When you examine a picture try to consider how the photographer took the photo. What was the achievable shutter speed? What was the aperture set at? What would you do to enhance the image? You do not need to be an professional but you must be quite confident that you realize what you’re undertaking whenever you are taking pics.

To determine how you might go about earning some extra income with your photographic camera you’ll want to decide what sort of photography that you are most passionate about. If you’re more of a stay-at-home individual it is still possible to make a decent income selling your photographs on the web through microstock image websites. In the event you love to work with other people it is possible to shoot portraits, wedding photos and even office images. In the event you are an animal lover there is a massive market for pet images and people will pay top dollar for a photo of somebody playing with their cat or dog.

Take a have a look at our no cost report that explains the world of Stock photography business, and covers all with the points that you need to know to start uploading photographs successfully. You may perhaps believe that people will just steal your images, but all the images that you simply submit to the microstock photography agencies on the web are obviously watermarked so, no one can just steal it . Only when a consumer buys an image, the watermark is eliminated.

A prospective misuse might also be that an individual could purchase your picture from a stock photography company and sell it as their own photo. But, that is obviously a violation of copyrights plus the member would be banned for life by stock photography company websites. So, you can really feel secure with stock photography businesses.

If you are interested in finding out more about this Internet photography business, then this is most definitely for you. For a more detailed overview at how to make money with a camera (including a FREE report) just click here…

Weddings are one of the most deserving and difficult occasions to photograph. Lighting, distance from the subjects and lots of movement are all challenges with wedding photography. So, here are 8 wedding photography tips you can use to help make sure that your wedding pictures are just what you (and the bride and groom) want.

1. Bring Lots of Batteries – This is especially true for digital cameras since digital uses far more power than film cameras. And if like most guests with digital cameras you’re showing your pictures to others at the wedding and reception, that LCD will zap the power even more. So bring lots (and I mean lots) of extra batteries.

2. Bring Extra Memory Cards and Increase the Resolution – You never know which pictures will end up being the ones you want to frame or make prints of for the photo album, so be sure that your camera is set to medium or better yet, high resolution. Having extra memory cards will help make sure you don’t run out of space.

3. Look for the Unexpected Moments – In addition to all of the traditional moments you need to take like the bride and groom getting ready, exchange of vows, the first kiss, there will always be the unexpected “Kodak moments” that you want to capture. Along with all the traditional moments that you don’t want to miss: the bride (or groom) getting ready, the exchange of vows, the first kiss, the cake cutting ceremony and so on, there are bound to be many unexpected “Kodak moments.” Watch the children as they will provide many sweet and comical photo ops at a wedding! And don’t forget to honor the parents of both the bride and groom by taking their pictures. There will be much emotion on this joyous day to capture with your camera.

4. Increase the ISO – If you have a film camera, use a higher speed film, such as 400, but if you have a digital camera like most will, increase the camera’s ISO, that is its sensitivity to light. Try increasing just to 200 or 400. Use digital noise removing software if needed. The higher ISO can brighten otherwise underexposed pictures better than a compact’s built in flash.

5. Photo Edit Out the Red Eye – Most wedding pictures are taken from too far a distance for the camera’s red eye reduction to work, but photo editing software such as Photoshop and even the free, Picasa can take the red out.

6. Save the Flash for the Most Important Pictures – Since it can take a while for the flash to recharge- plan ahead. Unless a “can’t miss” spontaneous photo opportunity comes up, save the flash for moments you most want to have pictures of, like the bride and groom cutting the cake, kissing after their vows, their first dance, etc.

7. Make Use of Optical Zoom or Your Feet – For those far away photos, use the optical zoom (not digital zoom if you can). If your camera doesn’t have an optical zoom, it’s best to simply move closer to the subject.

8. Don’t Let Shutter Lag Ruin your Pictures - Although this isn’t a problem with film, if you’re taking photos with a digital camera be prepared to compensate for the shutter lag. Some cameras shoot much faster (or slower) than others, so if you haven’t done so yet, get acquainted with yours before the wedding. When taking action shots such as dancing at the reception, do the same as you would at a sports event. Try to guess what’s going to happen next and point the camera in that direction and press the shutter half way down. Be ready to take lots of photos anytime there are people moving, so that you end up with several good pictures. And on such an important event, it’s important to take several still shots as well.

Hopefully these 8 wedding photo tips will help you make the most out of your next wedding and give the bride and groom pictures they adore. Until then, keep practicing and have fun learning photography!

The first thing that should be taken into consideration when deciding on a photo frame would be the location of where the frame is going to be. The type of frame selected for a photo generally has more to do with the colour scheme of the room in which it will be hung than the colors in the photo itself. Take into consideration the other frames, the furniture and the color of paint on the walls when selecting the perfect frame for your photo. For example if you are going to be placing the photo in a room that gets a lot of sunlight then it would be good to have a lighter color frame around your photo.

Another thing that has to be taken into consideration is what type of photo is being framed. If the photo is going to be a darker photo then it would be better to have a lighter frame around it to help let the photo stand out more.

Next, thing is going to be how much does this photo mean and how valuable is the photo that is going to be framed. If it’s of a special occasion then it’s probably worth spending the extra few dollars to get a nice frame to put around this photo. Where as if the photo is just for decoration in the house, then it falls back on what would be better around it.

Design styles that come with photo frames, once again for this to work it’s best to evaluate what the photo is worth. For example if the photo has a very great amount of value to it then what better way to protect this photo then with a more high durable quality frame for longer support.

So as noted above the photo frame of choice lies on the person that is hanging this photo, but with the advice above hopefully it can help make that decision a little bit easier to decide. So as the photo frame shopping begins just sit back and think, what type of photo is going in the frame, how much value does this photo have or will it have in the future.

Well with all of that being said hopefully the next trip to the store will ease the decision making on what type of frame to get for the great photo which is waiting to be hung up in the house, or placed on a very special table in the house.

Enjoy and happy frame shopping. Hopefully you will be able to get some of your most treasured photos (e.g childhood photos, any professional wedding photography) back on display in your home in beautiful frames.

1) Focus your camera
In order to ensure your images are sharp, make sure you know how to focus your camera. Digital cameras with auto focus are often difficult to focus precisely, especially when shooting small objects. Make sure your read your owner’s manual and understand how your camera’s auto focus operates. Most digital cameras are designed to easily focus on large objects but have difficulty on small objects. It is often useful to put your camera in spot focus mode. Spot focus will give you more control over what part of a scene the camera is actually focusing on.
2) Use a tripod
Even the slightest movement while taking a picture will cause motion blur. The closer you get to an object the more obvious the motion blur becomes. Using an inexpensive tripod will make a big difference in the sharpness of your images. For really sharp images it makes sense to invest in a good, sturdy tripod. If your camera has a remote shutter release then use it, if not then use the camera’s built-in timer to minimize camera shake.
3) Put your camera in aperture priority mode
To get the largest area of your subject in focus, it is good to set your camera in aperture priority mode and set the aperture to the highest number possible. The closer you get to your subject, the more important this becomes.
4) Use soft lighting
Your camera’s built-in flash will rarely give good results for product photography. For soft lighting either shoot outside on an overcase day or use a light tent like the EZcube, Cubelite, or use a soft box.
5) Use image editing software
Even inexpensive software like Photoshop Elements or ACDSee can make your product photography much easier. It may seem like it’s faster to use an image exactly as it was shot. But in reality, it is difficult to shoot an image precisely how you would like to appear in its final form. Image editing software allows you to crop an image, adjust it’s exposure, sharpen the image and then resize it, often in less than 60 seconds. The biggest difference between an amateur’s product snapshot and a professional’s product image are sharpness and lighting. Steps 1,2, and 3 will improve the sharpness of your images while Step 4 will improve your lighting. A minute spent editing an image will improve it further. Because these few steps seem so basic, it’s tempting to ignore them. However, if you take time to follow them, you will see a huge improvement in the quality of your photos.

The worst possible (and most frustrating) amateur photography scenario goes lika so:

- You see the most beautiful/wonderful/emotional shot.

- You press the shutter button and take the shot.

- You look in the viewer and mutter an expletive.

If the photo opportunity has vanished and you’re stuck with a crappy picture, FIX IT! Use these tips for taking digital photos to turn your blunders into almost-perfect pictures.

What You Need To Fix A Photo

Long story short, you need a PC with photo-editing software that will perform a few simple functions such as crop, lighten, and adjust colors.

Sound complicated? It’s not. Actually, you can download easy and free photo-editing software that will edit, organize, and share photos. The best-rated free software is Google Picasa.

The camera might have come with editing software. Load this software and see if it has the features to fix your photo.

Windows 7 comes with Micosoft Picture Editor that performs the basic editing functions.

Common Photo-Taking Mistakes

The following details three mistakes you can fix easily with simple editing software:

The photo you want is part of the original
Let’s say you took a picture of the members of a band during a concert, but you want a photo of the lead singer. Crop the piece of the picture you want and save the result. As long as your crop is fairly large, the new photo resolution will be okay for sending or printing.

Your photo is dark
As long as the photo isn’t too dark, you can lighten the photo with your editing software “brightness” setting. Save the brightened picture.

The photo colors are not true
For example, sometimes photos taken in bright sunlight are too blue. Editing software will allow you to change the bluetones back to their true colors. The editing feature will be named something like “color adjustment” – usually there’s a slider to test the colors. You may be able to see the color change as you move the slider.

Once you adjust a few photos, you’ll discover it’s simple to do. And you have fixed your mistakes! Make sure you save the adjusted photos.

More Tips For Taking Digital Photos

The first thing that any budding photographer needs to learn are the fundamentals of photography starting with the basics. Get these under your belt quickly and you have already won half the battle. So, what needs to happen to get you going as a beginner with your first digital camera? Let’s take a look at my top seven.

1. Equipment

It’s not all about equipment. Don’t go rushing out to buy expensive equipment without knowing what you need. A keen sales person will sell you as far as your wallet or credit card will take you. Wait until you know what you need and what you like and match these desires with the right equipment.

2. Decide on the type of shots you’d like to shoot

A good idea is to browse the internet photo galleries, look in magazines or visit your local library to get an idea of what type of photo you really like. Try it out with your camera and see if you are able to, or, want to persevere until you can. Once you’ve made a list plan to go out and shoot on a regular basis. It’s practise that makes perfect. Stick to it until you master your genre. Only then start looking for the equipment to match your area of interest.

3. Decide on a structured learning plan

Find out what you’d like to learn and what you need to learn in order to shoot the type of photos that interest you. For example, macro and nature photography is a more specialised art form and there are a number of techniques and skills to learn, as well as equipment you’ll need to buy. Research it on the internet, read books and if possible take a course on macro or close up photography.

4. Take photos often

If you are not regularly shooting images you are not going to grow in your skills and abilities. Set yourself assignments based on what you are studying. Of course, in a structured course you will be given assignments. A photo a day keeps the creativity flowing and helps you to keep motivated. I did an assignment once taking a 100 photos of the same subject from a host of different angles. It gave my photography an unexpected boost.

5. Learn your camera’s settings

Getting to know your camera is paramount if you want to learn to take great photos and the best way to do this is by reading your manual. Like I should be telling you this. I am the last one who reads a manual. But, if you do it in a structured way you’ll be amazed at how quickly you get to know your camera. The way I did it was to go through the manual highlighting everything I already knew about it. Then I went back through the manual reading up on each section I didn’t know, practising as I went along. Once I got to know it I was amazed at how much more I could do with my camera. The key is to experiment.

6. Keep your camera with you

Take every opportunity to get a great shot. Whenever you see something that would make a great photo, shoot it. I have often wished that I had taken my camera with me and got an amazing shot. If you don’t have it with you, you won’t get the shot

7. Buy a tripod

Besides my camera, my tripod is the most important piece of kit in my equipment bag. There are shots you can only get if your camera is steady. The sharpness of your shots will improve dramatically. If the pros use them then why not the amateurs?

As you begin your photography journey, work at learning in a structured way so that the fundamentals of photography become second nature. Photography should be fun but your learning process needs to be serious. Happy shooting!

You can remove the background or backdrop behind an object in a picture with a process called background removal. This process can remove the background in its entirety, or you can choose sections or parts that you desire from a backdrop to be removed.

Previously, before the arrival of digital photography and the current accompanying technology, background removal was performed in a more laborious process.

It was once done in a darkroom under all of the proper temperature and ambient conditions. The film was watched closely while submerged in a working solution. By overexposing the film to the solution, the background was blurred and has a decrease in resolution.

Today, background removal is possible using any digital photo editing software like Image Manipulation Program, GNU, or GIMP. GIMP is a special kind of graphics editing program able to support some types of object-based (or vector) graphics.

It is not necessary that the digital photo editing software used for background removal be able to support all types of object-oriented graphics. The advantage in using GIMP of course, is that it enables easy vector to raster conversion.

Other commonly used raster graphics editors and digital photo editors will also work just as well. Most digital photo editors have plug-ins which can alter the background in different ways. Plug-ins are computer programs with highly particular functions. Most sophisticated photo editing programs use special purpose plug-ins and will perform background editing and removal based on special criteria.

Objects without backgrounds gain a new sense of versatility and purpose. They can be placed in a new backdrop, even in a new situational context. An example would be to remove the dining room backdrop of a flower vase and replace the background with that of a hotel lobby. The object can also be moved around in any way and you can change its alignment with the new background.

An object can gain a new sense of purpose without changing itself at all. It retains all of its properties like shape and size but becomes moldable to individual usage.

As you plan for your wedding day, you will endure a wide range of experiences, some of which you will be familiar with prior to this point. Young brides may have hired a caterer for a past function, or a florist for non-wedding arrangements, and so on. However, many brides have never sought to employ a photographer, particularly to document and capture what is to be one of the most important days of her life. Oh, and it is important to the groom too.

So there can be a lot of pressure in this undertaking. (Minor understatement.)

Despite these concerns, hiring a wedding photographer can be a fun process (or, at the very least, less than stressful). Most importantly you need to focus on five distinct behaviors and characteristics of a photographer and her business.

1. Rapport

You will likely meet with more than one photographer, and in doing so you will learn a lot about the personality and interpersonal skills of the photographer. You may meet with one who acts like the stereotypical used car salesman, pushing you to sign on the dotted line while smiling and gazing inappropriately at your mother. You may speak with a photographer, only to find that she is virtually unable to engage in basic conversation, signifying her lack of social graces.

These are, of course, the extreme cases. You will, though, meet different personalities, and – like it or not – some personalities match you better than others. It is the way of human social interaction. The general rapport of the photographer will be absolutely crucial when it matters most – on the day you are married. Find a photographer who can hold a conversation, be pleasant, and still get the shots needed.

2. Style

You are hiring a photographer for one primary purpose – i.e., to take photographs at your wedding that you will like after your wedding day. You have to like the style of the photographer selected, be that traditional and posed, dramatic with a fashion flair, photojournalistic and contemporary, and so on. You are hiring an artist, and the art must be something that speaks to your aesthetic sense. This is, to my mind, the easiest element to determine. Look at the sample photos, and you may very well have the ‘A Ha’ moment.

3. Product

You aren’t looking for a photographer so you can later claim that you did indeed purchase the ‘Rose’ package, or whatever cute moniker they develop for their most expensive ‘plan.’ You are looking for photographs, usually actual photographs you can touch and show to your grandmother who doesn’t have a computer.

What I am getting at here is, you likely have an idea of what it is you want to HAVE – in your hands – after the wedding. That might be a DVD with high resolution photographs, it might be two hundred 4X6 prints, or an album. Whatever it is that you really want, you need to be sure that the photographer can produce, not only the item itself, but a QUALITY item. Albums vary incredibly in style and quality. Prints produced at your local big box outlet store are NOT the same as prints produced at professional photo printers. Be sure that you are comfortable with the photographer’s products.

4. Professionalism

Let’s say you set up an appointment with a photographer to talk about her services and she is twelve minutes late, uttering things like, “wow, traffic was bad,” or, “I had a hard time finding the place.” These statements might hold weight in ordinary events, but this is planning for your WEDDING DAY. Imagine that same photographer making the same statements after missing the beginning of your wedding. That is unacceptable.

Suppose that the photographer is on time to your meeting, but is wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt proclaiming that the Dublin concert in 1984 really was a lot of fun. You can even like Iron Maiden and still find this dress less than professional.

You should expect, and indeed deserve, a professional photographer – one who exhibits the habits and behaviors of any business owner. The photographer will need to know their practice inside and out, and if you ask a question about their business and they seem flustered, then chances are incredible that YOU will be flustered while they are attempting to take pictures of you. Professional conduct applies in any business, and certainly no less so in photography.

5. True Gestalt

Psychologists might cringe at my use of the term ‘gestalt’ here, but what I am getting at is this:

You are hiring the complete photographer. They will be at your wedding day and play a prominent role. You have to like the whole package.

So 1-4 above – rapport, style, product, and professionalism – must come together in a confluence of all the other things about the photographer and yield a complete package that you can support. This is important because, it is certainly possible that a particular photographer will satisfy your requirements on elements 1-4, but fail in the gestalt overview. If it doesn’t all come together, walk away and keep looking.

When you are able to find a photographer with a rapport that matches your general demeanor, a style that calls to your artistic side, the products that will satisfy you and your loved ones, the professional characteristics necessary for conducting a good business, and the ‘gestalt’ nature demonstrating the whole package – you are done looking! Hire that photographer!

(As an aside, let me go out on a limb here and make radical claim – the price doesn’t really matter. This will rile some feathers, but give it some thought. If you are comfortable with the above 5 things to look for in a wedding photographer, what is the difference of 0 (or more)? In the overall scheme of things, this is a relatively small price to pay for a really great service. Unless, of course, you are planning to get married many more times. Then you should get your cousin’s friend to photograph the wedding who offered to do it for free since he just got his DSLR and would love to learn how to use it.)

This will all take some time, though some brides luck out and meet with the photographer they will hire on their first attempt. Don’t be discouraged if you have to meet with several, though, as the time spent now will be more than worth it on your wedding day.

wanting to do this as a hobby. Depending upon what you

would like to do with digital photography it’s entirely

up to you as to how much equipment you’re going to be

you out in letting you know what you may require for your

digital camera the important thing is to not spend overly

to much on it. There is no call for in purchasing an

pricey digital camera until afterwards down the road once

you get a good deal more experienced with it. On several

digital cameras you could be capable to even utilize them

as a manual camera. You will merely have to work out how

to adjust all of it’s operations. You’ll be able to go

virtually everything you want to know. Just keep in mind

that owning the proper software for your digital camera

digital camera safe and all or any accessories that you

have all of the features you will need just to get going

and with this camera you’ll even be able to take truly

great photographs.

Spending more doesn’t all of the time mean that you’re

buying the better product. If there’s not a photographing

equipment store in your city then I suggest you will be

able to simply go online and look up anything you may be

interested in purchasing. You will be able to discover a

couple of really good deals on the internet if you’re

can assist you out with your first time purchasing needs.

If there’s a local store where you can go in and purchase
